Locating Key Ingredients: Bugmeat and Hellcap Mushrooms

Snaf specifically requests three portions of bugmeat and five hellcap mushrooms for his dish. Here's a breakdown of where to find them:

Sourcing Bugmeat: Eastern Wall and Abandoned Mines

Several large maggots, known as meatbugs, can be found near the eastern wall of the Old Camp, just beyond your living quarters and the arena. It's possible you may have already collected some bugmeat earlier in the game from creatures encountered near the abandoned mine. Keep an eye out for these creatures as you explore.

Discovering Hellcaps: Caves and Open Fields

Hellcap mushrooms thrive within caves and certain open areas. You can find a cluster of five hellcaps inside the cave where you encounter Nek during "The Vanished Warder" quest, located just outside the Old Camp's southern gate. Additionally, two more hellcaps can be found in the small molerat cave situated by the bridge at the northern gate. Another three are available in the molerat cave to the west of town, along the guarded path leading towards the orc territories. While gathering hellcaps, you might also find Solanaceae, an ingredient essential for "The Forgotten Recipe" quest, so make sure to collect those too.

Rewards and Further Endeavors: Completing Snaf's Request

Once you've collected all the required ingredients, return to Snaf, and he will prepare his notorious meatbug ragout. Despite its unconventional nature, the dish is said to be quite delectable. Your efforts will be rewarded with 100 experience points, the recipe to prepare the ragout yourself, and the opportunity to receive free food from Snaf daily. It's important to note that while this quest is beneficial for early game progression, it does not directly contribute to the main "Casting Shadows" questline, so be prepared for additional tasks within the Old Camp.
