During a recent appearance on the "Classic Clown" podcast, Peter Serafinowicz, known for lending his voice to Darth Maul in "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace," shared his reflections on the iconic character. Serafinowicz provided the voice for the Sith villain, while Ray Park handled the physical performance in the 1999 film, a collaboration that extended to "Solo: A Star Wars Story." Serafinowicz candidly admitted his initial lack of enthusiasm for the character's design and considered seeing the film a significant letdown at the time, despite acknowledging the character's eventual iconic status.

Serafinowicz humorously recounted an encounter with George Lucas, who reportedly praised him as the "new James Earl Jones." This high compliment led Serafinowicz to playfully question his compensation, wondering why, if he was indeed the successor to such a legendary voice, his pay was not commensurate. Recent reports indicate his casting as Peeves the Poltergeist in HBO's upcoming "Harry Potter" television series.
