Be Quiet! Introduces Compact TKL Gaming Keyboard and Expands Peripherals Lineup

At Computex, Be Quiet!, a prominent name in the realm of silent computing components, showcased an array of new peripherals and hardware. Headlining their reveals is a more compact, tenkeyless (TKL) iteration of their highly regarded Light Wings gaming keyboard. This new offering, alongside an expanded mousepad and a spacious PC case, underscores the brand's commitment to delivering high-performance, acoustically optimized, and space-efficient solutions for the gaming community.

The original Be Quiet! Light Wings keyboard, lauded for its exceptional quiet operation and premium build quality, achieved a remarkable 93% rating in a recent review. Its success was attributed to innovative features such as multiple layers of sound-dampening foam and pre-lubricated switches, which collectively minimize typing noise without compromising tactile feedback. The new TKL model is engineered to inherit these core strengths, providing a similar superior typing and gaming experience but in a smaller footprint, ideal for gamers with limited desk space or those who prefer a more minimalist setup.

Set to debut around August, the specific pricing for the TKL keyboard remains undisclosed. However, there's anticipation that it will be more budget-friendly than its full-sized counterpart, which retails at $170. This potential price adjustment could make premium silent gaming more accessible to a broader audience. Beyond its reduced size, the Light Wings TKL will maintain key functionalities that define its full-sized sibling, including hot-swappable 5-pin switch compatibility, customizable per-key RGB illumination, and a user-friendly media control wheel. These features ensure that the compact design does not equate to a compromise in performance or aesthetic appeal.

In addition to the new keyboard, Be Quiet! introduced the Mousepad XL, a generously sized mat measuring 900 x 500 mm. This large surface is specifically designed to comfortably accommodate both a gaming mouse and keyboard, offering ample room for expansive mouse movements. The mousepad features a 3 mm thick anti-slip rubber base, ensuring stability during intense gaming sessions. Its optimized soft and smooth fabric surface is crafted to enhance tracking precision, facilitate effortless mouse glides, and provide lasting comfort for both the mouse and the user's wrists. While many mousepads share similar characteristics, the Mousepad XL aims to distinguish itself through its quality of feel and competitive pricing.

Another significant unveiling at Computex was the Pure Base 803 PC case. This substantial chassis boasts support for back-connect motherboards, accommodating up to seven HDDs, three 420 mm radiators, and two 140 mm rear fans. This design caters to enthusiasts seeking extensive cooling capabilities and ample storage options, reflecting Be Quiet!'s expertise in silent and high-performance PC component design. Despite these exciting hardware releases, no new gaming mice were announced, a slight disappointment for fans who appreciated the performance of the Be Quiet! Dark Perk Ergo, despite its previous premium pricing.

Be Quiet!'s latest product announcements at Computex emphasize their dedication to innovation in gaming hardware, particularly in creating quieter, more efficient, and user-friendly solutions. The upcoming TKL keyboard, expanded mousepad, and the Pure Base 803 case collectively enhance their product portfolio, catering to a diverse range of gamer preferences while upholding the brand's reputation for quality and silent operation.
